American rapper Snoop Dogg to carry Olympic torch

Snoop Dogg was born in Los Angeles - the host city for the 2028 Olympics

 American rapper Snoop Dogg has been named as one of the final torchbearers of the Olympic flame before Friday's opening ceremony in Paris.

The 52-year-old will channel the Saint-Denis road, north of Paris, where the Stade de France Olympic Stadium is located. The segment Saint-Denis is the last leg of the flame's journey before the broadcast ends at the Eiffel Tower. 

 Olympic fans have streamed from France since his trip in May, with many people including former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, Formula One driver Charles Leclerc and actress Halle Berry. 

 Snoop Dogg, full name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, born in Los Angeles - host of the 2028 games. 

 The American artist will join other players in Saint-Denis, including the French actress Laetitia Casta. and French artist MC Solar.
