USA ease past South Sudan to make Olympic quarter-finals

The USA are top of Group C with four points

The United States' quest for a fifth  Olympic gold medal continues after they advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over South Sudan.

Bright Stars, ranked 33rd in the world, did not play against the 16-time champions and won 103-86 at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium.
USA took the lead in the first quarter and never looked back, with Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo posting a team-high 18 points and seven rebounds.
South Sudan Nuni Omat leads the game with  24 runs.
But as exciting as it was, this game was nowhere near as dramatic as when the two nations met earlier this month in the Olympic warm-up games.
USA would rally from a 16 deficit that night to pull off one of the biggest upsets in basketball history with a 101-100 win over London.
This victory has never been in doubt.  Team USA  has 12 NBA All-Stars, four NBA MVPs and six NBA Champions who have combined for 11 Olympic Games and  10 gold medals.
Group C qualifiers against Puerto Rico will end on Saturday, while South Sudan needs a result against Serbia  to continue.
